Carbonized paper is required to work with these types of printers as regular paper is just too thin and, as a result, would end up burned through as they are heated. What does that mean? Thermal printing or direct thermal printing is where you use a specially coated paper, which is called a thermal chromatic paper and a signal is sent to the print heads.
