About this deal

The Toro cheerleading squad has spirit, spunk, sass and a killer routine that's sure to lend them the national championship trophy for the sixth year in a row.

All in all, I really enjoyed this commentary; it was an almost-shockingly compelling affair and it stands as one of the best tracks I’ve heard recently. Bring it On is kind of weird since it's part High School comedy and part sports movie- a weird highbred. I was really thrilled to get Jesse Bradford because I was a huge fan of King of The Hill - the Steven Soderbergh movie. The girls are attractive, and putting them into various stages of dress, and undress, certainly can't hurt the grosses. On the flip side, we've all heard the bad commentaries where it's just some guy is just describing exactly what you are seeing on screen. I hate when there's a deleted scene on a DVD with no explination, or you have to go out of your way to find an alternate audio track. Black levels were deep and rich, and shadow detail looked smooth and appropriately opaque without any excessive heaviness. Dunst has shown a lot of talent in previous efforts like Interview With the Vampire and The Virgin Suicides, and she neatly inhabits perky Torrance.

Two sets of “Production Notes” appear as well; one is on the DVD itself, while the other can be found in the booklet.

The guys from Warrant are probably going to show up at my house and kick my ass for saying how much. But for newly-elected team captain; Torrance (Kirsten Dunst); the Toros' road to cheer glory stumbles when she discovers their perfectly choreographed routines were stolen from a hot hip-hop squad across town. It didn’t help that she’s absolutely gorgeous; Dunst is cute, too, and has built a considerable male following, but I’ll take Dushku over her any day. Speaking of pulchritudinous pleasures, the next piece provides “Never-Before-Seen Home Movie of the Car Wash Scene”.

She had to be the cynical eye to all the stuff around her, because she's really the one the audience is going to identify with, and so her responses to the cheerleading stuff was so very important. When you have a film about cheerleading you are not going to have blatant nudity and stuff like that. Of course, any of these sites are available to those without DVD-ROM drives, but the disc collects them nicely. That's not to say that "Bring it On" is a realist film or anything, but I wanted some grounding in the performance. At no time could I find any significantly soft or fuzzy images as the movie always appeared detailed. But none of it is anything you haven't seen before, especially if you've seen all the other movies in this series, and it's hard to even care about the lead characters here.

During the filming of the scene when Torrance, Missy, Jan and Les carpool to a football game, a driver, angry that the film's motorcade was making him late for dinner, attempted to drive the camera truck off the road. Universal’s Animated Anecdotes”, this extra functions as a running text commentary somewhat like the ones on Ghostbusters and The Abyss. She came into the audition and the attitude before she even got to the lines, and I thought that's Missy right there. That's such a crucial role in the movie because you've got to acknowledge that anyone coming to see a cheerleader movie has a lot of preconceived notions about cheerleading.
