About this deal

All the small examples from a real-life situation that the author (interviewer) and the interviewee shares with their audience. I struggled with Proctor’s foundational philosophy - it’s a bit of Christian theology shaken up with “laws” of attraction and vibration. Bob offers simple, practical tips on HOW to meditate, how to apply small changes on a day by day basis, and how to stay motivated through the process of changing your paradigm (world/life/personal view). In the self help tradition, it is filled with insufferable suggestions strung together by a confusing blend of Christian orthodoxy and woo-woo poetics of "vibrations" and "energies". Guide you on how to replace a paradigm that doesn't serve you well with a new one that frees you to create the life you really want.

Without changing it, without believing different stuff , we can’t become what we really want and we will always fall back to our default mode. I listen to this as I drift off to sleep, not because it’s boring but because it contains some fundamentals that shouldn’t ever be taken for granted or forgotten. Action and Persistence: While changing paradigms is crucial, Proctor also emphasizes the necessity of taking action. It's like brainwashing, only in this case you're brainwashing yourself, intentionally, and for a positive purpose. A series of interview questions put to the late, great Bob Proctor - one of the all time classic self help gurus. These are principles that God baked into the universe, and they are impartial; anyone, regardless of their religious persuasion, can tap into them and make them work. The knowledge is here and the only way to get to it is to study, but you have to know what to study.

The rest of it was a combination of lots of woo woo concepts and incorrect/made up theology about God (might turn off those who believe in God) while talking a fair amount about God (which might turn off those who don’t believe in God). When you're doing something that's out of the ordinary, your mental programing, your paradigm, will try and stop you. Also, a note to any future readers, some of this book is based on the law of attraction and belief in God. I will however look for one sharing notions about the attitude, the visualization and the goal setting. The message of this “book” is often contradictory to itself and contains several suggestions which seem impractical as universal applications to life.
