About this deal

Fans of the series who love Becky just as she is (and has always been) will enjoy this seventh series entry. I'd been hoping that life would smack some more sense into this silly airhead, not reinforce her bad habits. She seems incapable of being responsible and taking control of the situation and instead just buries her head in the sand which makes for some brilliant avoidance tactics. Becky’s sister demands a vegan turkey, her husband insists that he just wants aftershave (again), and little Minnie needs a very specific picnic hamper: Surely Becky can manage all this, as well as the surprise appearance of an old boyfriend–turned–rock star and his pushy new girlfriend, whose motives are far from clear. While the movie could benefit from some things in the book that they didn't use, the book would benefit much more from the movie.

This book had me smiling from the beginning to the end, and if Becky felt a little bit too dumb or too flawed at the beginning, I thought her character development was top notch and, by the end of the book, she felt even more human and relatable. Her father has vanished from Los Angeles on a mysterious quest with the husband of Becky’s best friend, Suze.

so me being me took out all her books and started organizing them, then I found 2 copies of THIS book and she just went— "here. I gave up credit cards as my solutions and it appears that she finds her own way to keep her credit and her life good by the books end. And it’s sad cause I saw it when I just graduated high school and my ex husband (who was my bf at the time) was like “OMG SHE IS LITERALLY YOU”. I couldn’t stop laughing every time she got herself into another fix and Luke would coincidentally happen upon her.I must confess that I was expecting more similarities, the book took a different direction, many situations changed. Every time she tries to stop spending, she winds up needing a little pick me up as she gets down in the dumps—a feeling many can relate to.

And if that's not unbearable enough, in this one Rebecca Bloomwood personifies materialism---AND THE MORAL OF THE STORY IS THAT IT'S OKAY! Except, Cutting Back seems impossible, and her attempts to Make More Money just get her into trouble. Sophie’s latest novel, Surprise Me, published in February 2018, presents a humorous yet moving portrait of a marriage—its intricacies, comforts, and complications. But Becky still adores the traditions of Christmas: Her parents hosting, carols playing on repeat, her mother pretending she made the Christmas pudding, and the neighbors coming ’round for sherry in their terrible holiday sweaters.Red carpet premieres, velvet ropes, paparazzi clamoring for attention—suddenly Becky has everything she’s ever wanted. Everything has to be perfect for her baby: from the designer nursery and the latest stroller to top-of-the-line medical care. It reminds of humans I know, who choose to lead the most dramatic, self indulged, objectified, diva lifestyle. But when the must-have celebrity obstetrician Becky’s been so desperate to see turns out to be Luke’s glamorous, intellectual ex-girlfriend, Becky’s perfect world starts to crumble.
