About this deal

Once you get past the initial burst of spice, it settles into this dreamy kind of sweet creamy powdery more subdued spiced rose scent, and now I cannot seem to get enough of it. They dressed for themselves because they were comfortable in themselves, and that's what this perfume is about.

One was White Diamonds and the other Diamonds and Emeralds and then Diamonds and Rubies in parfum form. Now in defense of this I think it smells better on me in cold weather, and I happen to live in Florida. I also get the Guerlain Nahema reference, but Diamonds and Rubies is closer to Hermès Rouge than anything else. This floral – oriental fragrance, launched in 1993, was designed by the famous Russian Sophia Grojsman.

This isn't the spicy oriental in comparison to London Burberry, Opium, or Obsession, these latter fragrances are much spicier. If you are living in an area where this has not really become a big hit, by all means - claim this one as your own! It was part of the Fragrant Jewels line along with Diamonds and Emeralds and Diamonds and Sapphires.

As the scent develops I smell the dusty, orangey powder of Dana Navy; and in the heart I swear I detect a hint of the warm, almost root-beer spices of Tabu. The spices and powder are also noticeable even before the drydown giving the impression of a very grand lady at her dressing table powdering her nose. She lived through two world wars, countless losses and difficulties, but she always preserved her grace and dignity. I was only wearing shorts and a Marley teeshirt when I sprayed this, but I immediately felt like the kind of woman who pencils those dark lines up the backs of her legs, after she has donned the perfect LBD and slipped a gold cased crimson lipstick into her black satin evening bag, on her way out to an evening of dancing and dinner at the club. Vanilla, spices, amber, and a mix of light and somewhat powdery floral notes filled my nose (I think I can parse out the ylang-ylang, though I haven't smelled any of the other flowers separately, so it's hard for me to tell which ones stand out). The scent opens with top notes of Lilac, Peach and Rose, middle notes are Jasmine, Orchid and Spices. This supposed to be a rich, warm spicy rose scent but all I smell is covet surrounded by some flowers. Wait before you judge this fragrance when first spraying on because my initial response was a no like until a few minutes went by and then it was wow I love it.

I don't know what it was, but I detected NONE of the rich, creamy, peachy, soothing-spicy notes that others love. In this I get the mingle of my two faves joining in with this alluring little symphony, jasmine and ylang-ylang. I'm looking forward to spraying this on a willing tester, because honestly perfume does either work with or against our chemistry, and just like how food tastes, smell is also a preference. I think is easy to reach all year around and every time of the day/night, but nevertheless the scent is interesting and special. Its interesting out of the fragrant jewels it seems there is always one that reviews mention they absolutely don't prefer.Peach (and apricot) is immediately recognizable, a little syrupy and surely sweet, canned peach, and goes together with the rose (and probably some purple flower), wich give to the scent a soapy dimension. But within half an hour the heart and base had developed into an extraordinary fragrance very warm, sensual and full of Eastern promise. However, I see why others like it so much, it's a beautiful creation for those who like this type of spicyness, like in Sun, MOon, Stars for example which is again a big no for me because of the same clove-y notes in it.

I have to admit I never wanted to try Elizabeth Taylor fragrances because I thought they were going to be to screechy, loud and harsh.Note: The pros and cons listed on this page have been generated using the artificial intelligence system, which analyzes product reviews submitted by our members. I'm no good at individual notes, but the rose is up there, a big beautiful voluptuous rose with warmth underneath.
